• Business Continuity Planning is a proactive planning process that ensures critical services are delivered during a disruption. • The next level of contingency planning involves periodic replication of mission critical data to an off-site location. In the case of a disaster, the most that your company would suffer in data loss would be the amount of data since the last replication.

• Another level of contingency planning would involve backups followed by regular off-site restores. This process is the least expensive but would also give the least up-to-date data and would involve regular manual administration.
